The Planet Jersey exhibition was a great success for Farm Fuels.
Tremendous interest was shown in the range of pellet stoves and we are pleased to say that we are taking our first orders as a result.
The Heat Logs that were shown have also proved popular with customers and repeat orders are now being taken.
At the show we met up with Nick Glover of Jersey Bio Fuels and as a result from April 1st we will be running our vehicles on Bio Fuel made from the islands waste cooking oil.
Nick has put a lot of effort into getting his venture off the ground and Farm Fuels wish to support Jersey Bio Fuels in any way possible.
As we are approaching the end of our manufacturing for this season we are taking time out of the factory to take advantage of the fine weather and are getting on with various jobs that need doing on the farm. The existing cider apple orchard is pruned and the beehives have been installed to assist with pollination and make some fabulous Jersey Honey for local beekeepers.
The planting of the new cider apple orchard is underway bringing the total number of apple trees at Morville up to 450. All the apples harvested will be turned into either Jersey Cider, Jersey Apple Brandy or Jersey Black Butter, by La Mare Vineyards.
The Miscanthus crop is due to be planted towards the end of March. This one acre trial plot will investigate planting densities and will hopefully be the first of many acres that we can grow in Jersey to turn into Heat Logs and Pellets.
Our thanks to all of you that have shown an interest in what we are doing at Farm Fuels
We will keep you informed of developments as and when we can.
